BrightMinds is designed from the ground up for child safety. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data from any user, of any age, ever.

1. Information We Collect

None. BrightMinds collects no personal information whatsoever. This includes:

✗ No names, emails, or account details
✗ No device identifiers or advertising IDs
✗ No usage analytics or crash reports sent to us
✗ No location data
✗ No photos, microphone access, or camera access

2. Local Storage Only

The only data BrightMinds stores is your child's learning progress (stars earned, badges unlocked, quiz scores, streak) and your chosen settings (region, text-to-speech preference). This data is stored only on your device using standard device storage (AsyncStorage). It never leaves your device and is never transmitted anywhere.

You can delete all stored data at any time via Settings → Reset All Progress. Uninstalling the app also removes all data permanently.

3. Internet Connection

BrightMinds is 100% offline. The app does not require an internet connection to function. No network requests are made during normal use. The only time network access occurs is during the optional In-App Purchase flow, which is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) — we receive only a confirmation of the purchase, not any payment details.

4. In-App Purchases

The optional one-time Pro upgrade is processed entirely by Apple or Google. We do not have access to your payment information. The purchase confirmation is stored locally on your device only.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA / GDPR-K)

BrightMinds is designed specifically for children aged 5–11. We comply fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the UK Children's Code. Because we collect no data whatsoever, we exceed the minimum requirements of these regulations.

There are no social features, no chat, no leaderboards, and no ability for children to communicate with strangers.

6. Third-Party Services

BrightMinds does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising networks, social SDKs, or tracking tools. The text-to-speech feature uses the device's built-in speech engine (on-device, no data sent externally).

7. Changes to This Policy

If we ever update this policy, the new version will be posted at this URL. We will never introduce data collection without explicit notice and, where required by law, parental consent.
